When multiplying numbers with index powers like its stated in this question, its very important to know the rule that applies to indices. When two numbers with the different index powers are multiplied together, the indices are added up, and NOT multiplied like Diego did. Ideally he should have written it like this;

2³ x 2²

2³ + ²

2⁵

**A quick check:

2³ x 2²

(2 x 2 x 2) x (2 x 2)

8 x 4

32

Similarly

2⁵ = 32**
