When you drop a sugar cube in a glass of water, at first the water doesn’t taste sweet. Later, it tastes very sweet. Eventually, the water will taste equally sweet throughout. What term explains molecule movement to maintain a balance?

Particles move from higher concentration to lower concentration , otherwise known as diffusion. When balance occurs, it is known as equilibrium.

Answer:

Diffusion

Step-by-step explanation:

Diffusion: when sugar is introduced in water, the particles will spread in an irreversible process (dilution) until the concentration is uniform (or the same in any point of the container). When this uniformity is reached, there is an equilibrium state.

As the process is irreversible, sweet taste will not change with time and equilibrium will be maintained.
