4(2x+3/5 - (x+1)/4 = 31/5, Multiply Throughout By The L.C.M Of The Denominators '20'. 16(2x+3)-5(x+1)=124, Expand And Solve You Have, 32x +48-5x-5=124, 27x+43=124, 27x=124-43, 27x=81, X=3
