Answer: B

A noun clause can be defined as an dependent clause that acts as a noun. In the following sentence ‘I learned why there are fewer hours of daylight in winter’, the noun clause acts as a subject. Hence the other options, which are, Direct Object, indirect Object and appositive are incorrect because direct object acts as a transitive verb of doing something and indirect object is something or someone who is being effected by an action.
