They probably want you to cancel out common factors to reduce the fraction they provided.

Notice that 6 can be written in prime factor form as 2 * 3 (2 times 3)

Then when we use the fraction form as shown below, a common factor of 2 in numerator and denominator can be cancelled out:


(6)/(2)=(3\cdot2)/(2)=3

Then your answer is an integer number: 3
