In order to solve this equation, you must isolate x.

Combine the fractions by finding a common denominator-- in this case it is 30. So, 1/10 becomes 3/30 and 1/15 becomes 2/30. Add these two together and you get 5/30.

Now isolate x by multiplying both sides by x itself. You would get (5/30)x = 1.

Finally, multiply both sides by 30/5 to get isolate x. You would multiply the fraction by its reciprocal (opposite) in order to get a product of 1. So, 1 times 30/5 gives you 30/5.

Therefore, x is equal to 30/5
