No 1 is not your answer, -1 would be your answer.

To show my work, here.

1. Expand (6x −6= 4x − 8)
2.
Subtract 4x from both sides (6x−6−4x=−8)
3. simplify 6x - 6 - 4x to 2x - 6 ( 2x - 6 = -8)
4. Add 6 to both sides ( 2x = -8 + 6)
5. simplify -8 + 6 to -2 (2x = -2)
6. divide both sides by 2 (x = -1)
