x = 5y - 1
2 ( 5y - 1 ) + 4y = - 4
10y - 2 + 4y = - 4
14y = - 2
y = - 1/7

x = 5 ( - 1/7 ) - 1
x = - 5/7 - 1
x = - 12/7
x = - 1 / 5 / 7
