combatant- a person or nation engaged in fighting during a war.
synonyms fighter,soldier, serviceman/woman warrior ECT...
so the Athens and Sparta and their allies I believe.

The Peloponnesian war took place in about 430 BC between the Athens and the Peloponnesians supported by the Persians, Mostly in westernmost Asia. The war was won by the Peloponnesians.
