Explanation:

DE is a midsegment of the triangle and is half of AB , that is

2x + 13 =
(1)/(2)(13x - 37) ← multiply through by 2 to clear the fraction

4x + 26 = 13x - 37 ( subtract 13x from both sides )

- 9x + 26 = - 37 ( subtract 26 from both sides )

- 9x = - 63 ( divide both sides by - 9 )

x = 7

Thus

AB = 13x - 37 = 13(7) - 37 = 91 - 37 = 54
