Choose the equation below that represents the line passing through the point (-5, 1) with a slope of three halves.

y - 5 = three halves(x + 1)

y + 1 = three halves(x - 5)

y + 5 = -three halves(x - 1)

y - 1 = three halves(x + 5)

Correct answer is D.

Use equation of line which passes through the point
A(x_1,y_1).

y-y_1=m(x-x_1)

A(-5,1) \Rightarrow x_1=-5,y_1=1 \\ m= (3)/(2) \\ \\y-y_1=m(x-x_1) \\y-1= (3)/(2) (x-(-5)) \\y-1=(3)/(2) (x+5)
