f(x)=x^2+2x-5

g(x)--3x^2-4x+1

what is f(x)-g(x)

f(x)-g(x)= x^2 + 2x - 5 - 3x^2 - 4x + 1

Group like terms.

x^2 - 3x^2 + 2x - 4x - 5 + 1

Add/Subtract similar terms

2x^2 - 2x - 4

f(x) - g(x) = 2x^2 - 2x - 4
