The energy from the sun that warms your face is transferred by a process called radiation.
Radiation is the release of energy in the form of waves or rays from any source that may be natural such as sun or man-made. The sun emits ultra violet (UV) radiation which is a form of electromagnetic radiation that can be harmful (such as causing sunburn) in excessive amounts. The two types of radiation are; ionizing (low frequency) radiation and non-ionizing (high frequency) radiation.
