The given function is,

f(x)=2x^2+32-72

The function can be rewritten with the GCF removed,

f(x)=2(x^2+16-36)

The GCF is 2.

The value of a,b and c are,

\begin{gathered} a=2 \\ b=0 \\ c=-40 \end{gathered}

The factored form is ,

\begin{gathered} 2x^2-40 \\ =2(x^2-20) \\ =2(x+2\sqrt[]{5})(x-2\sqrt[]{5)} \end{gathered}

The factor pair is,

\begin{gathered} a* c=2*(-40) \\ =-80 \end{gathered}

The sum of factor pair is,

2\sqrt[]{5}-2\sqrt[]{5}=0

The sum of factor pair is -b/a.
