Russian culture has a Slavic base (language, folklore). It was influenced by Scandinavians (Viking times) mostly in fight technics, weapons, ship-building and establishing trade unions. Than Russian culture was greatly influenced by Byzantine Empire (in religion, book issuing and iconography). Then by Mongols (during 3 centuries of invasion, again in weapons, fight technics, laws and a little in state system).
