In still water it takes him 3 hours to travel 30 miles.
That is 10 m/h
Going back it took him 6 hours which means he travelled at 5 m/h.
To slow him done by 5 m/h the current had to flow at 5 m/h

The trip back the boat will travel only 30 miles because the trip doubled the hrs.
