hehehe, your body will begin to decompose itself to provide protein that it needs. essentially eating itself

It is different from marasmus as only protein deficiency is present in kwashiorkor (calorie intake is normal).

The symptoms may include distended abdomen, thinning of hair, enlarged liver with fatty infiltrates, loss of teeth, dermatitis nand skin depigmentation.
