Substrates must have a fixed and precise shape for them to fit in with the active site of the corresponding enzyme to undergo conversion into the products of the reaction. Not any substrate can fit into a specific active site and vice versa.

Answer:

Enzymes may be defined as the bio catalyst that has the ability to increase the rate of biochemical reactions of the living organism. The enzymes has the ability to work at specific physical and chemical conditions.

Enzymes binds with the specific substrate only as they are highly specific in nature. The substrate binds with the active site of the enzyme and fits in such a way as the key fits into its lock, The substrate may change the site of the enzymes after binding of the enzyme and substrate.
