Answer: The distance is 15 units.

Explanation:

Let's define the bottom left corner of the left rectangle as the point (0, 0).

we know that the rectangles are of 10 by 14, then the point O will be exactly on the middle of these two quantities (because the long side is on the horizontal axis, the point O could be written as):

O (7, 5)

Point M is on the top of the rectangle, then we know that the y component will be equal to 14.

And the x component is on the middle of the rectangle (this side is the one that measures 10 units)

the middle is 5.

And we also need to add the 14 units of the other rectangle that is lying down, then the x-component of this rectangle is 14+ 5 = 19

The point M is (19, 14)

We want to find the distance between the points (7, 5) and (19, 14)

We know that the distance between points (a, b) and (c, d) is:

Distance = โˆš( (a - c)^2 + (b - d)^2)

In this case, the distance between points O and M will be:

distance = โˆš( (7 - 19)^2 + (5 - 14)^2) = 15

Distance between points O and M is 15 units.
