When Mendel crossed the tall homozygous plant with short plants ( TT × tt). All plants are tall (Tt). This explains that 'T' gene is dominant over 't'. T doesnot allow the expression of the 't' gene and plants are tall. This gives the law of dominance. According to this law, in pair of contrasting trait, one trait can hides the expression of other trait. The trait that can express itself is known as dominant trait and and the trait that cannot express itself is known as recessive trait.
