You have a bottle of concentrated hydrochloric acid which is 96% w/v HCl. The molecular weight of HCl is 36.46 and its density is 1.18g.cm3 . What is the molarity of the HCl in the bottle. Give your answer to two significant figures.

Molarity is one way of expressing concentration in units of mole per liter solution. We calculate as follows:

.96 g / cm^3 ( 1 mol / 36.46 g ) ( 1000 cm^3/ 1 L) = 26.33 mol HCl /L solution

Hope this answers the question. Have a nice day. Feel free to ask more questions.
