Explain the identity property and how it is used. What are the identity elements for addition and multiplication?

The identity element when applied does not change the other elements hence in multiplication 1x7=7 and 1x5=5 the elements 5 and 7 do not change for addition its 0 such as 0+10=10.

Identity for multiplication is 1, for addition its 0
