a green pigment, present in all green plants and in cyanobacteria, responsible for the absorption of light to provide energy for photosynthesis. Its molecule contains a magnesium atom held in a porphyrin ring. :)

Wrong subject buddy :P But since you asked, chlorophyll is a pigment inside of chloroplast. This is similar to the human's mitochondria but instead for plants. It stores energy which will be used to make sugars for the plant - a source of energy. I hope this helps :-)
