Why do most states require all drivers by law to carry auto insurance, but not necessarily other kinds of insurance?

Answer: If an accident occurs, you are designated to pay for that accident if you were at fault, if this charge can't be paid, then the victim can be left without a car and if you don't have a car it will be impossible to get to work without help.(unless you want to ride a bike or are within distance from your job) Other kinds of insurance are mainly dependable on the insured, which means you are responsible for your insurance and cannot interfere with other people's lives because you have/do not have insurance.
