A given line has the equation 10x + 2y = −2.

What is the equation, in slope-intercept form, of the line that is parallel to the given line and passes through the point (0, 12)?

Y=5x+12

Explanation:

The given equation in slope intercept mode would be:

y=5x-1 so when the X is 0 the line would be in (0,-1) and a parallel line should have the same "m" which is 5, remember the equation of the line:

Y=mx+c

The M being the slope, and for paralell lines the slope is the same so, the C would be the distance from the 0 to the "Y" when the X is "0"

So the answer would be:

Y=5x+12
