First of all draw a segment of any length. Then take a compass, and make its opening more than half the segment. After this, draw an arc above and below the line segment, while keeping the compass at one end of the segment. Now move the compass to the other end of the compass and draw two arcs above and below the line segment. Two arcs above will cross each other, and similarly the arcs below the line will also cross each other. Now draw a line joining the crossing points of the arcs, which will be the final perpendicular bisector.
