Work algebraically and you must show equation used and the work used to get your answers.

A wooden access ramp is being built to reach a platform that sits 30 inches above the floor.  The ramp drops 2 inches for every 25 inch run.
A) What is the slope?
B) Find the x-intercept of the graph of your equation.
C) Design requirements stipulate that the maximum run can be 30 feet.  Will this ramp meet the requirements?
D) Using a complete sentence, explain the reason that you gave your answer to part (c).

Well, it is
(-2)/(25). That is, the equation is
y=(-2)/(25)x+30. The run could be found when y=0, so
(-2)/(25)+30=0 or
30=(2)/(25)x or
750=2x or
x=375. 375 inches. 30 feet means 360 inches, as far as I remember (in my country only metric systems are being used :) ) so it doesn't really work -- the ramp is just a bit too long.
