5+2/p=17/p
5+2/p-17/p=0
5+(2-17)/p=0
5-15/p=0
5=15/p
p=15/5
p=3
I don't really know if it's right though

$5+(2)/(p)=(17)/(p);\ p\\eq0\\\\(5p)/(p)+(2)/(p)=(17)/(p)\\\\(5p+2)/(p)=(17)/(p)\iff5p+2=17\\\\5p=17-2\\\\5p=15\ /:5\\\\p=3$
