Answer

The sum of 12 – 5i and –3 + 4i is 9- i

Explanation:

Given : Two complex numbers 12 – 5i and –3 + 4i

We have to find the sum of 12 – 5i and –3 + 4i

Consider the given complex numbers 12 – 5i and –3 + 4i

Sum is 12 – 5i + ( –3 + 4i )

Apply plus- minus rule
-(-a)=a, we have,

= 12 – 5i –3 + 4i

Group like terms ,

= 12 -3 -5i+ 4i

Adding similar elements, we have,

= 9- i

Thus, The sum of 12 – 5i and –3 + 4i is 9- i
