Let the number of passengers who paid for regular tickets be x and those who paid for sleep a car seat be y. Then

x + y = 94

and

129x + 297y = 2052

From the first equation,

y = 94 - x

Substituting this into the second equation

129x + 297 (94 - x) = 2052

129x + 27918 - 297x = 2052

collect like terms

129x - 297x = 20526 - 27918

-168x = -7392

Divide both sides by -168

-168x/-168 = -7392/-168

x = 44

Recall that y = 94 - x

Hence

y = 94 - 44

y = 50

Therefore 44 passengers purchased the regular coach tickets and 50 purchased the tickets for sleep in a car seat.
