8 is a rational number because it can be written as a fraction ( 8/1 ). So there for 3/4 is also a rational number.

Basically, any number that can be expressed as a quotient or a fraction.

rational numbers are numbers that can be expressed as a fraction.

eg 3=3/1
rational numbers can also be recurring, unlike what people say

0.333333= 1/3

they can also be negative numbers.
-4= -4/1

zero is also rational.

0= 0/0

hybrid numbers can be rational.

12.5= 25/2

hope this helps!
