First, make 5 1/3 into an improper fraction. To do that, multiply 5 and 3, then add 1.

5 x 3 = 15
15 + 1 = 16

5 1/3 = 16/3

Now you are dividing 16/3 by 2/3.

When dividing fractions, you use the reciprocal of the 2nd fraction, 2/3, and make the divided sign a multiplication sign.

The reciprocal of a fraction is when you flip the numerator and the denominator of that fraction.

The reciprocal of 2/3 is 3/2.

Your new equation is:

16 3
---- x -----
3 2

16 x 3 = 48
3 x 2 = 6

48/6 = 8

5 1/3 divided by 2/3 = 8
