Answer:

Let A1 = be the large rectangle and A2 the small rectangle

=> Area A1: S1 = a1.b1 => S1 = 8 x 9 = 72m2

=> Area A2: S2 = a2.b2 => S2 = 3 x 5 = 15 m2

=> Area of the remaining surrounding square: S1-S2 = 72-15 = 67m2

=> Perimeter A1: P1 = 2 (a1 + b1) = 2 (9 + 8) = 34m

=> Perimeter A2: P2 = 2 (a2 + b2) = 2 (3 + 5) = 16m

=> Perimeter of the surrounding square: P1-P2 = 34-16 = 18m

Answer:

perimeter-

perimeter outer rectangle = 2 (l+b)

=2×8+9

= 2×17

2×17 =34 cm sq.

perimeter of inner rectangle = 2 (l+b)

= 2×5+3

=2× 8

= 16 cm sq.

perimeter of shaded portion= 34 - 16

= 18 cm sq.

area-

area of inner rectangle =l×b

l×b = 3×5

3×5=15

15 cm sq.

area of outer rectangle =l×b

l×b= 9×8

9×8= 72

72 cm sq.

area of shaded portion = 72 -15 =57 cm sq.

hey there! In second method i have done first area of inner rectangle but you have to do first area of outer rectangle...
