15. Sylvia says the first step to solve 5 – 2(x + 1) = 13

will be
3(x + 1) = 13
Explain how you know she is wrong using order of operations, and find the answer.

you first do -2(x+1) to get 5-2x-2=13
then you do 13-5= 8, then 8+-2=6
so then you have -2x=6
then -x= 3 and you have to times by -1 on both sides to get rid of -x
so the answer would be x=-3
