If I'm not mistaken, they just rewrite the linear equation for slope (MX+b=Y) and are asking for what a, b, and c are in the rewritten form, I believe they added an extra variable too.

We find the intercepts by setting the other variable equal to zero...To find the x-intercepts, we set y equal to zero...Ax + By = CAx + 0 = Cx = C/ATo find the y-intercepts, we set x equal to zero...0 + By = Cy = C/B
