Let x be the number of video games Paul have.
"Mike have half as many games as Paul" can be represented by the equation 6 = x/2
Multiply both sides by 2 so you can get the variable x alone on a side and its value on another side:
6*2 = (x/2)*2
12 = x.

So Paul have 12 games.

If Mike has half as many games as Paul, then multiply 6 * 2 to get the number of games that Paul has.

6 * 2 = 12
