Out of all the options, only one of the directions are correct and it is where we have to place our star

a) We start with the interest

The general form of the compound interest is;


f(x)=I(1+r)^n

The difference in both values is the inside value

The 1.5 and 1.05

As we all know, this represents the rate

5% is same as 5/100 = 0.05

This is what we add to 1 and it is 1.05

So the correct one is the f(x) that has 1.05 as the growth rate

b) we have;


g(x)=20(0.87)^x

As we can see, the value in the bracket is less than 1. This shows a decreasing exponential function
