Question #15:

Looking at the data set, we see that between each hour that is worked, the earnings that Susie earns is around $5.

This means that since the relationship between the hours worked and earnings she makes is constant, the relationship is linear, which means that the equation we are looking for should be x and not x^2 or any other exponent.

Now we also see that the relationship between the hours worked and the money she makes is a positive relationship, which makes sense, as the more hours she works, the more money she makes. This means that the equation shouldn't be a negative relationship

Looking at our options, we see that only option C has both a linear relationship (only a single x) and a positive relationship (no negative sign).

Question #16:

Looking at this data set, we see that the relationship isn't as constant as the other question. This means that we can already eliminate any linear relationship options (Not B or D). So now we are looking at A or C.

For this question, the best way to approach it would be simply plugging in values and seeing if our answers matches up with the data set (this is another way to solve this question).

If we plug 1 in A (7x^0.5), we get 7, which is around the same number as the data set.

If we plug 1 in C (x^2 + 6x + 3), we get 10, which is further out than A.

This means the correct answer is A.
