Jack read 1/6 of a book on Monday and another 1/3 of it on Tuesday. He took another 4 days to finish reading the book. He read the same number of pages on each of the 4 days.

What fraction of the book did he read on each of the 4 days?

If he read 40 pages on each of these 4 days, find the number of pages in the book.

on each of the four days, jack read 1/8 of the book. 1/8 is 12.5 percent. if 12.5% is 40%, the a proportion can be set up to see the total number of pages which is 320

1/3= 2/6...+1/6= 3/6 or 1/2 of the book. Now there is 1/2 left to read 40 pgs each day...160 pgs...160 is half the book. So 160*2= 320 total pages.
