The stamp act was an act from the British parliament in 1756 that imposed on the colonies to put stamps on newspapers and other documents to get revenue from them. Patrick Henry, an American Politian, wanted to impose a resolution for the stamp act and edit some of the charts. So the colonists considered his speech as treason, and treachery to the King. But of course he apologized, and reassured the house that he was still loyal.
