well to make it able to solve multiply 3/10 by 4 and 1/4 by 10 to get
12/40 - 10/40 = 2/40 which would be simplified to 1/20

(3)/(10)-(1)/(4)\\\\find\ LCD((3)/(10);\ (1)/(4))\\\\List\ the\ multiples\ of\ 10:0;\ 10;\ \fbox{20};\ 30;...\\\\List\ the\ multiples\ of\ 4:0;\ 4;\ 8;\ 12;\ 16;\ \fbox{20};\ 24;...\\\\LCD((3)/(10);\ (1)/(4))=\fbox{20}\\\\(3)/(10)=(3\cdot2)/(10\cdot2)=(6)/(20);\ (1)/(4)=(1\cdot5)/(4\cdot5)=(5)/(20)\\\\therefore:\\\\(3)/(10)-(1)/(4)=(6)/(20)-(5)/(20)=(6-5)/(20)=\boxed{(1)/(20)}
