8(r +4) = -6r + 4(r-7)

Distribute the number on the left outside of the parentheses to the insides:
8r + 32 = -6r + 4r - 28

Bring all the numbers with 'r' to the left of the equation sign:
8r + 6r - 4r + 32 = -28

Subtract the 32 from both sides:
8r + 6r - 4r + 32 = -28
- 32 -32

8r + 6r - 4r = -28 - 32

Combine all like terms:
10r = -60

Divide by 10 to isolate r:
10 r = -60
10 10

r =

Hope this helped...
