In a loan database, there are 25 loans to clients with 16 years of business experience. Also, there are 67 loans made to clients with a High School education. In the database there are 72 loans to clients with 16 years of experience or who have a High School education. How many loans were made to clients with a High School education who also had 16 years of experience?

Solution:

The Venn diagram to represent the statement is show below

Let B represent loans to clients with 16 years of business experience

Let H represent loans to clients with a High School education

Where,

x represent loans to clients with 16 years of business experience and also had a High School education

To find x,

\begin{gathered} 25-x+x+67-x=72 \\ Collect\text{ like terms on the left side of the equation} \\ 25+67-x+x-x=72 \\ 92-x=72 \\ Collect\text{ like terms} \\ x=92-72 \\ x=20 \end{gathered}

Hence, the answer is 20

In a loan database, there are 25 loans to clients with 16 years of business experience-example-1
