An old study done in the 1920s considered the relationship between a farm's corn yield in bushels per acre and the value per acre of that farm. The study found that do had a least squares regression equation of ŷ= 12.32x - 273.6. Interpret the y-intercept of this least squares regression line.

y-\text{intercept}=-273.6

This tells us that for zero acres the yield is negative, which makes sense, since if there is no production, the expenses will be greater than the income.
