(60 minutes / 8 km)*(2 km) = 60/4 = 15 minutes

Answer: 15 minutes

Explanation:

Given : Tonya runs 8 kilometres in 60 minutes.

We know that the rate of distance covered with respect to time is given by :-

\frac{\text{Distance}}{\text{Time}}

Rate of distance covered with respect to time for Tony=
(8)/(60)kilometers per minute

Let t be the time taken by her to run 2 kilometers.

Then, Rate of distance covered with respect to time =
(2)/(t)

If rate remains the same, then we have

(2)/(t)=(8)/(60)\\\\\Rightarrow\ t=(60*2)/(8)=15

Hence, it would take 15 minutes to run 2 kilometers.
