5/2Y pretty much = 2 1/2 y = 10 So all you do is divide both sides by 2 1/2 Which leaves Y = 4 Also you can say if you still don't understand it, what times itself 2 times and plus half itself = 10 you can say 4 Ex: 4 + 4 + (1/2 of 4=2) 10 so it's 4

if\ (5)/(2)y=10\ \ \ \ \ |divide\ both\ sides\ by\ (5)/(2)\ (multiply\ by\ (2)/(5))\\\\y=(\\ot10^2)/(1)\cdot(2)/(\\ot5_1)\\\\\boxed{y=4}\\===============================\\if\ (5)/(2y)=10\\\\(5)/(2y)=(10)/(1)\ \ \ \ |cross\ multiply\\\\2y\cdot10=5\cdot1\\\\20y=5\ \ \ \ \ |divide\ both\ sides\ by\ 20\\\\y=(5)/(20)\\\\\boxed{y=(1)/(4)}
