Read these lines from "Helen Grey":

strain the cord until it snaps,
Don't split the sound heart with your wedge,

How do these lines help develop the main point or theme of the poem?

I think that the line:
strain the cord until it snaps,
Don't split the sound heart with your wedge,
helps develop the main theme because the narrator is telling Helen not to be so prideful because someone loves her, or because she is handsome. the narrator does not want Helen to lose herself because she believes she is handsome or because someone loves her.
