What is a subordinate clause? May you please also give an example.

A subordinate clause is a clause usually introduced by a conjunction, and forms part of a main clause. Subordinate clauses are also dependent on a main clause.

Example :
Bella did poorly on her history exam because her best friend Chavez insisted on gossiping during their study session the night before.
