vertex = (0, 0)
focus = (-2, 0)
p = -2 - 0 = -2
Required equation is (y - k)^2 = 4p(x - h); where (h, k) = (0, 0), the vertex
(y - 0)^2 = 4(-2)(x - 0)
y^2 = -8x

Required equation in standard form is x = -1/8 y^2
