So for every 1/2 a cup is 3/4 cups of flour so if you need to know how much cups of flour is used for 1 total cup of milk you have to add you multiply it is optional if you add put the two fractions next to each other you need to add to the side witch the numbers are 3 so 3+3 is 6 so you got the answer just put the number 4 under the 6 and it will be 6/4 or you could say 1 2/4 or 1 1/2 .
